I think this is a great place to start if you are looking for general knowledge on neurodegeneration. It includes basic information as well as pages specific to different diseases and areas to look into clinical trials.

As my grandpa was originally diagnosed with Parkinson’s, this was a website I remember visiting on multiple occasions. It’s a very approachable format and has lots of good information.

This page is easy to read but very informative. There is a lot of great content not only in this article, but on the entire website! It's a great place to explore if you're looking for basics and specifics.

If you have some time, I would love for you all to get to listen to this interview with Ms. Ryder, a research assistant at the Boston University CTE Center. It is very interesting and a great first hand perspective!

What Is Neurodegeneration?

I’m a visual learner, so videos like this really helped me understand the basis of what happens during neurodegeneration.

What is Multiple System Atrophy?

I liked this video because it gives firsthand experiences of patients and caregivers. It feels very personal, which I thought was interesting.

Improving Speech and Swallowing

This video is for caretakers, patients, or anyone else who can use this information to their benefit. When my grandpa had PSP, two of his greatest challenges were swallowing food and articulating his words. Cure PSP is an amazing organization and this video is great.

I always love to read up on new studies on cures or preventative measures for neurodegeneration. This specifically stood out to me originally because the supplement seemed like something that could be implemented into daily life, almost like a vitamin. It’s a very interesting read!

Recent studies and research strongly link eye health to various conditions, including Alzheimer's. Advancements have allowed scientists to be able to confirm a diagnosis through eye exams! This site discusses the link between eyes and Alzheimer's, how the disease affects your eyes, the use of eye exams for early detection, and more! It offers much valuable information and I strongly reccomend taking a look!

This article details how a team from MIT developed a device that can detect and help identify Parkinson's disease. As the condition is infamously difficult to diagnose, this device reads breathing patterns using radio signals. Very interesting read!

A historical moment in the medical field! While not a complete "cure" a new drug has been created that is a pioneer in terms of attacking Alzheimers. While most patients take medications for their symptoms, this instead works at slowing the disease's progression. This article does a very good job of simplifying complex medical concepts, and is definitely worth the time reading!!

This article discusses a very interesting study being done in the NFL world. Concussions are notoriously undetected, so Vanderbilt and other schools developed a mouthguard that tracks acceleration and place of impact. With this data, players can get proper medical care and researchers can learn more about how to improve the game's safety. Super interesting, and a very quick read.
